SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyundai Motor Group is using “art cars” to support South Korea’s bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.

This important week, starting this Monday, brings together leaders of countries from around the world. It’s the last major global event before they choose the host for the 2030 Expo in late November.

Hyundai is collaborating with K-culture artists to create 20 art cars as part of their bid for the Expo. They’ve chosen three electric vehicles – the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Genesis G80 electrified model – as art cars to highlight the Expo’s unique feature of being environmentally friendly, using eco-friendly technologies. An art car is a vehicle that’s covered in artwork or anime characters.

The art car was designed in partnership with Korea’s top graffiti artist, Jay Flow. The graffiti design showcases Busan’s main symbols and the slogan ‘BUSAN is Ready’ in a colorful and emotional style.

Hyundai will drive the art car near the United Nations headquarters in New York and popular tourist spots. They hope to show the General Assembly attendees and New York tourists how appealing Busan is as a potential Expo host. Hyundai plans to display the art car at its Genesis House in New York and Times Square to create a positive buzz for the Busan Expo.
