Sometimes I go overboard, I admit it. I get an idea into my head and then I run with it.  Maybe I was overwhelmed by the smell of chocolate, or too much sugar from the samples sitting out, but I bought ALOT of candy for the entry table.  Instead of using bowls, I set the candy out in apothecary jars so that all of that pretty foil wrapping shows! And the greens and mercury glass are the rustic glam style that the rest of the house has this year.

Do you have that one special treat that you just have to have for the holidays? Maybe it is a family tradition or it just brings back a holiday memory from childhood? When I was young,  we always had foil wrapped solid chocolates during the holidays. My mom would put out a huge bowl of them on the coffee table and we were allowed to have two pieces a day. There were five of us kids and we all snuck more than our allowed two pieces, but the bowl was always full. My mom said that Santa’s elves came and filled it up each night!! My parents have long passed away, but the foil wrapped candy tradition still continues at our house.
