Hey Everyone! I want to share with you a reclaimed wood beach sign that I made for the back porch. My house is nothing but craziness right now getting ready for the baby shower next week. I took a break from it all to make this simple sign for the back porch. I know, priorities right? Anyway, when I was cleaning up the patio I found four old wood pieces. I forgot they were left out there when I did a bench recycle last year. The wood is cracked and pitted and looks just like old driftwood. This old weathered wood is the star of the show so the private beach sign message was kept really simple.
Since it will be out of the weather, the letters are painted with Sky Blue craft paint and then sanded off. I remember taking family vacations at the public beach, and there were private beach signs all around it. They were hand painted and looked like they had been there forever, and that was what I was going for. It’s pretty cool knowing where the wood came from and making something out of it again.
The boards are glued together at the edges, but nothing else was done to them. It’s kind of hard to judge from the photo but the sign is pretty big, at four feet long
Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciate you! Stay tuned for lots of updates on the Farmhouse Beverage Bar that is finally getting finished up and of course, the BBQ Baby Shower!
