Coastal Fall Mantel using cotton boll garland, cat tail stalks, pumpkins and candles.

Hi Everyone! I want to share the coastal fall mantel in my family room with you.  A few weeks ago I painted the mantel white (from medium oak) and was waiting for the paint to cure before putting anything on it.(I know, sounds like an excuse, right?) Now that Thanksgiving has crept up on me, it needed done.

One of the things that I had to do was decorate around the big sailboat picture hanging on the brick. It only comes down for Christmas to make room for a wreath. So guess what my theme was? Coastal. You got it!

I started with a cotton boll garland, added white painted jars filled with cattails,  2 candlesticks, white pillars and painted pumpkins.

The hearth has a  basket filled with pillows and a throw. And on top of the firescreen I added three starfish. There were some pumpkins on the hearth too, but the puppy kept running off with them!
